Students from across the Region walked, rode and scooted to school last month as part of the Walk to School Campaign hosted through all of November.

The campaign aims to encourage Victorian school children to lead an active, healthy lifestyle now and into the future by creating easy, safe and accessible ways for students to walk to school.

This year we partnered with our friends at Sunraysia Community Health Services to give an added incentive for schools to get on board, with FREE end of term pool parties offered up as prizes to the top performing schools!

With 10 schools registered for a combined total of 2,563 students the results were outstanding with an average of 26% of all students opting for active travel as a way of getting to school throughout the month, with Red Cliffs East Primary School coming out on top!

A big well done goes to all students (and staff) at the registered schools who participated, and a huge thanks to all parents and guardians who supported their children to get involved.

Time to let the pool parties and celebrations begin!
