You could easily be mistaken for thinking that the empty carpark and darkened building at Mildura Waves was a sign that the Centre came to a halt following its temporary closure last month, however this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Behind closed doors, contractors have been busily working around the clock to continue transforming our change rooms, with this project forming an essential part of completing the Centre’s modernisation project which commenced last year with the pool hall, gym and plant room upgrades.
Stage 1 of the project, which includes the upgrade of the male change rooms is now nearing completion with the new vinyl flooring and walls in place, and the toilet and shower partitions all installed.
To finalise this stage, the contractors will be focusing on the following tasks over the next 2 weeks:
- Installation of seating and coat hooks
- Plumbing fit off
- Electrical fit off
- Completion of ceiling linings
- Mechanical ventilation
Once the male change rooms are completed, the contractors will move straight into stage 2 of the project which includes the female change rooms and part of the family change area.
All 3 stages of the project are still on track for completion by early August of this year, providing a new, fresh and modern facility for everyone to enjoy!
Please continue to follow our website and Facebook Page for further updates on this project.
