We recently had the pleasure of welcoming the Heart Health Check Community Project team to Mildura Waves, giving our community the opportunity to take part in an important initiative aimed at making heart health checks easier and more accessible for people living in rural and regional Australia.
The project is exploring new ways to complete heart health checks, including options through pharmacies, community health centres and even at home. By taking part, participants receive a heart health assessment and guidance on any recommended next steps, while also helping researchers develop a more accessible system for communities like ours.
This initiative is available to eligible people aged 45–79 years who haven’t had a Heart Health Check with their GP in the past 12 months and haven’t been diagnosed with heart disease, chronic kidney disease or inherited high cholesterol.
We’re proud to support projects that improve the health and wellbeing of our community and thank everyone who stopped by to participate.
Missed out? The Heart Health Check Community Project team will be back at Mildura Waves on Saturday 11 July, so there’s still an opportunity to get involved and take a simple step towards better heart health.
