If you’ve visited Mildura Waves recently, you’ve probably noticed the hive of activity taking place around the change rooms. These exciting works are part of a $720,000 transformation which will see the male, female, family and accessible change facilities all receive a welcome make-over as part of the first major upgrade to this area since the facility opened 20 years ago.
Stage 1 of the project, which started on 3 February 2020, includes the upgrade of the male change rooms with the following work already completed so far:
- Demolition and removal of existing infrastructure
- Replacement of all copper water lines and valves
- Upgrades to the air handling system
- Installation of a new ceiling grid system
- Lining of the walls
Over the coming fortnight the walls will be prepared for the installation of a new vinyl wall system, electrical works will commence, and the floor will be prepared for the new surface.
With works progressing well to date, all 3 stages of the project are on track for completion by early August of this year.
Members and guests visiting the centre are reminded that temporary change rooms have been established to maintain services throughout the works period, and to follow staff instructions and centre signage to navigate to the correct area.
