In partnership with the Richmond Institute and Swinburne University of Technology we are very excited to be able to provide our local students in Mildura with the opportunity to undertake a school-based traineeship here at Mildura Waves. This great program is designed to kick start a career in a range of community services for these students. It certainly has been a delight to welcome these students to our Mildura Waves Family.

In our centre these students work part time to gain valuable experience within our industry while studying for their qualification with Swinburne. Once the students have completed their course, they will have some great opportunities and access to various pathways.

With our first-year students joining us this year, we are thrilled to welcome Riley, Daniel, Kobe, Zara, Asha, Annabelle, and Kate to our team. These students have now been with us for a couple of months and are a valuable part of our team, working in our Customer Experience Team as well as helping out in other areas throughout the centre. They have been learning and assisting our Customer Experience and Swim School Team with all customers enquires and assisting with preparing and packing up our swim school classes plus have been helping out behind the scenes and are eagerly learning everything there is to know about Mildura Waves.

It was pleasure to see the students plan and deliver this week’s Members Morning tea which included an informative talk on nutrition. Our members enjoyed the yummy treats from IGA Midway Market in Buronga and eagerly listened to the nutritional information the students had put together.
