It is with much gratitude for the support we’ve received this year that we announce the end of our outdoor pool season at Irymple, Merbein and Red Cliffs swimming pools.

Despite the challenges of this season, our team loved welcoming our community back through the gates once again and enjoyed a great summer of fun with everyone who made these sites the thriving social hubs they are over the past 5 months.

This decision was not made lightly, however in consultation with our partners, Mildura Rural City Council, it was deemed necessary in order to support our team and avoid placing a further unnecessary strain on our already stretched workforce.

As a community, we continue to be challenged by the current public health crisis. Our team have not been immune to this crisis and just this week we have had 7 key staff enter isolation as they follow the Government’s COVID response guidelines. This has placed a significant strain on our rosters, and despite our best efforts to recruit new lifeguards in recent months, we have been unable to keep up with the demand placed on our team when key members are sidelined.

To show our thanks to the wonderful users of all facilities who have supported us this year, Aligned Leisure and Mildura Rural City Council will be offering the following:

  • Reduced casual swim entry to Mildura Waves for residents of Irymple, Merbein and Red Cliffs communities and pool users. Simply show proof of residency to a member of our Customer Experience Team to receive the discount. This offer applies until 3 April 2022.
  • Transfer of membership to Mildura Waves until 10 April 2022 for our existing outdoor pool pass holders at Irymple, Merbein and Red Cliffs. To redeem this offer, simply show your existing membership card or provide your name and basic contact details to our team at Mildura Waves upon entry.
  • Extension of the Mildura Waves outdoor pool season until Sunday 3 April 2022, giving our community an extra 4 days to make the most of this fantastic asset.

We know our business is not the only one working hard to keep their doors open and our thoughts go out to everyone who is currently being impacted. Please remember, everyone is doing their best – making it more important than ever to show kindness and understanding to all who are doing it tough right now.

With a great summer now behind us, planning has already commenced for next season, and we can’t wait to reopen our gates once again on 1 November.

On behalf of our entire team, we once again wish to thank our community for their continued support at this time and hope to see you continuing to enjoy swimming at Mildura Waves throughout the off-season.

Until we see you next, take care.
