Flo Connect is an exciting initiative which aims to re-engage young people aged 12-18 years who have been out of school for 3 months or longer. The program provides them with an individualised program to reconnect them onto a learning pathway back into school, TAFE or another educational pathway, with many local organisations all coming together to support this aim.

As one of the newest organisations to come on board, we’re excited at Mildura Waves to be able to support and partner with Flo Connect to provide these young people with a unique physical and mental health training program, with sessions being held at the centre twice per week throughout the school year. As part of our partnership, students will learn the importance of being physically active through a range of activities such as strength, aerobic and mindfulness training and how this effects one’s mental and physical wellbeing.

With sessions kicking off last week, we’re looking forward to a great year ahead with students and can’t wait to support their individual journeys. Be sure to say hello and make our newest members feel welcome if you see them in the centre.
