After a short break to celebrate the festive season our Swim School will be returning to the water from Monday 18 January 2021 with some very exciting changes!

Following a comprehensive review of the Swim and Survive Program, a new curriculum is being launched that aligns with the National Swimming and Water Safety Framework to provide an even better experience for students.

Tried and tested, the Swim and Survive program was first developed over 30 years ago, with over 20 million Australians having enjoyed the program.

A swimming and water safety initiative of Royal Life Saving, the program seeks to increase the swimming and water safety skills of all Australian children in order to prevent drowning and increase participation in safe aquatic activity.

The updated program will guide learning through progressive steps, providing an opportunity to develop fundamental swimming and water safety skills, through to more challenging skills that increase in endurance and complexity, with the new curriculum to be rolled out seamlessly over the coming year.

With a long Summer still ahead of us and so many great waterways and pools across our Region, it’s of vital importance that children continue to develop their water safety skills.
